Dear Wine Lovers,

  • The regular Tuesday Night Club Gatherings will continue every Tuesday throughout July and August for those members remaining in Hong Kong. Crown Wine Cellars would like to wish all those members departing for their annual vacations a safe and enjoyable holiday.
  • Our special Dine For Free offer for members every Saturday and Sunday lunch has been extended until the end of August. For every group of two or more persons hosted by a member, CWC will not charge the members' partner for their meal.
  • A number of Changes to the Menu will be introduced over the next few weeks - look out for the details in upcoming notices.
  • The latest En Primeur Prices and Ratings are attached below for your easy reference.
  • We have started taking orders for the Next UK Wine Shipment - details attached below. While the shipment is scheduled to depart the UK in September, should we have 300 cases or more, CWC will proceed to ship the wines earlier - so please submit your order as soon as possible.

NEXT WINE SHIPMENT FROM THE UK TO HK (More details below)

Orders are currently being taken for the next CWC wine shipment from the UK to HK.
This shipment is planned for September 06. However, should we receive orders for 300 cases or more prior to September, CWC will arrange that the shipment departs sooner.

Please be patient as the staff may not always be present to answer the call right away. Telephones have now been connected in the Conservatory and Main Underground Bunker to improve the situation.

  • SATURDAY: 9AM TO 1PM
ALL REQUESTS TO TRANSFER WINE FROM THE MAIN CELLARS TO THE CLUB CAN ONLY BE FACILITATED DURING THE ABOVE-MENTIONED TIMES.
 

TUESDAY NIGHT CLUB SCHEDULE - 4, 11, 18, 25 JULY 

The Tuesday Night Club is an informal gathering of members and their guests whereby each person brings along one bottle of wine to share.
Naturally, you can extract one of your cellared bottles or try one of the many thousands of Club wines.

CROWN WINE CELLARS WINE SHIPMENT FROM THE UK TO HK - AUGUST 2006

 You are herewith invited to join the next Crown Wine Cellars wine shipment from the UK to HK taking place in August/September 2006.
  • Door (UK Merchant)-to-Door (CWC Cellar) transport all-inclusive from HK$30 per bottle for CWC Members (HK$45 for non-members)
  • Use of Temperature Controlled Containers only
  • The best wine cellaring conditions available in Hong Kong from HK$1 per bottle per month
  • Guaranteed private ownership of all wine in CWC Cellars
This highly efficient and cost effective service has become the most popular method for Hong Kong owners of Fine Wine to transport their wine in total security from the UK to Hong Kong.

This is a complete door-to-cellar service which requires the absolute minimum effort from the wine owner.
Naturally, only refrigerated containers are used thus guaranteeing that your wine will not endure any ill effects.

AUGUST/SEPTEMBER UK WINE SHIPMENT SCHEDULE

Our estimated time-line is as follows:

1 June - 15 August Collection of all members/guest's orders
15 August - 8 September Final liaison with the UK storage companies & Physical collection of the wine in the UK
8 September - 15 September Estimated departure from the UK for HK


As with previous shipments, it would be appreciated if all members and non-members would follow these simple directions, after-which CWC staff will take care of everything on your behalf up to and including the wine's arrival and registration in our bonded cellars.
Herewith the details:
  1. Contact your UK storage company or wine supplier via e-mail stating your intention to relocate your wine.
  2. Instruct them to release your wines to CWC or our appointed agent. 
  3. Provide them with a list of which wines you would like to remove.
  4. Request that they issue sales invoice (if applicable) or a valuation invoice dated within the past 12 months, providing all details of the wine.
  5. Copy all correspondence to: gdeeb@crownwinecellars.com or vchik@crownwinecellars.com
Please note that CWC is able to transport wine from UK bond to HK bond.
Members are charged an estimated HK$30 per bottle all inclusive aside from insurance (which is charged at 0.8% of value).
Non-members are charged an estimated HK$45 per bottle all inclusive aside from insurance (which is charged at 0.8% of value).

NEW LAY-FLAT BOXES INTRODUCED

CWC has just taken delivery of our new in-house lay-flat boxes. The boxes have the following special design features:

  • Additional strength
  • 6-bottle size for easy handling
  • Efficient built-in bottle separators
  • Lay-flat design for long-term cellaring

CWC is offering the following SPECIAL OFFER for all members to convert their current upright boxes to these new lay-flat design boxes @HK$20 per box inclusive of labour and materials. Please contact our Warehouse Supervisor, Ms Vicki Chik at vchik@crownwinecellars.com to repackage your wines.
